Ayurveda existence on the Earth from the earliest or the medieval period till today the “Modern Era” is passed on to the Planet by the Creator of the Universe. Nature is the first source of cures for all human ailments. Traditional healers across the globe, in India also known as Hakeems / Hakims, Pansaris famously known as Vaids / Vaidyas in the ancient kingdoms of the kingly rules, the famous ways of techniques in the ancient eras were the herbal remedies, meditations and therapies of yoga.

Also known as Rishi, Munis (Physicians) in the ancient Indian history where the rulers of the kingdoms had their own Vaids who have contributed significantly in the medical science of human civilization.

Medicines were made with the prayers at the start and the ingredient’s were collected at auspicious times of the day.

Mantras, spiritual healing, prayers, dance, the smell of the breeze, herbal medicines were used to treat human ailments.

Across the Globe the history of traditional ways of healing were almost interconnected. Unani medicines were very popular in khandani Dawakhanas known as walk in clinic nowadays. In the 19th century business establishments were more than 100 years old known as khandani Hakeems / hakims and the ancient traditional ways and healing techniques were passed on to the next generations.

Ayurveda has been thriving for centuries and has sustained a significant knowledge of medicines developed from the herbs and plants.

The NLM herb garden is also dedicated towards the healing power of the nature and a center for peace, rest and meditation where herbs remain relevant in the medicinal world. The healing totem indicates at the bottom “A women with a gathering basket that represents the women who traditionally gathers plants and herbs to heal human illness”
